11U-19U Recreational Program
If a team is interested in playing recreational soccer, the team can play under the WR Avalanche umbrella.
The Recreational Program has three main purposes:
Teams are formed based on player interest and demand, and are placed in an appropriate league based on both age and gender. Registration in the program does not necessarily guarantee placement on a team. Teams are based on the number of registrants at the time of the registration deadline and a minimum number of players are needed. In some cases, age groups (for example 12 and 13 year old girls) are combined in order to form a team. Please note that player registration fees will be refunded, in full, if there are not enough registered players to form a team. Also note that players must be in High School or younger in order to participate.
Teams in the recreational program practice two times per week and games are typically on Saturdays. Also, teams in the recreational program usually play 8 games per season, four at home (typically Kullerstrand Elementary or Paramount Park) and four games away. The teams are placed in a suitable league but we have no control over where the away games will be played.
We rely on volunteer coaches for teams in our recreational program. Each team will need at least one parent to coach. The coach is the important indicator for having a positive and rewarding experience.
If interested in pursuing the formation of a recreational team, please reach out to our Executive Director at [email protected] Note that teams need to be formed by mid July to play in the Fall season, and by mid January to play in the Spring season.
