With deep roots and a long history with the Wheat Ridge Avalanche Soccer Club, Aldo has served as President, coaching director, coach and parent to the club. He has served as the Interim Director of Coaching for over a decade.
“The Board is delighted that Aldo has agreed to join us in serving the Wheat Ridge Avalanche community as the Director of Coaching starting May of 2018,” said Teresa Lange, immediate past Board President and newly appointed Executive Director. “We couldn’t be more honored to have Aldo apply his experience and expertise to our growing club and the future development of our players,” said Tom Chamberlin, current Board President.
The Wheat Ridge Avalanche was a small, grassroots soccer club for many years. Aldo served as their interim Director of Coaching for years during this stage through the last few years of the club’s impressive growth. Aldo coached teams on both the Avalanche and Colorado Rush. Until recently, he was serving as a club director for Avalanche while also coaching in the Colorado Rush boys DA program. As of May 2018, Aldo will begin an official term as the Director of Coaching for the Wheat Ridge Avalanche.
In a time when youth club soccer is growing in popularity and competitive soccer clubs are getting larger and covering greater territory in Colorado, the Wheat Ridge Avalanche embraces its community feel in the pursuit of player development and the overall growth of the local soccer culture. “I continue to count myself fortunate to be a part of a quality soccer community and both grassroots and higher-level development opportunity and to train my efforts on helping toward the club’s bright future”.
Aldo, is a USSF B licensed coach and has been coaching for 40 years. He played his college ball for UCLA and afterward returned to Colorado and continued playing in amateur leagues for decades. When he moved to Wheat Ridge he joined the Avalanche as a board member and coach and eventually served as the coaching director of the Wheat Ridge Avalanche.
Aldo serves on the Colorado Soccer Association Board of Directors and is currently serving as Vice President through 2019.
